Seniors Add Valuable Experience (SAVE) connects Danbury residential homeowners over age 65 with volunteer service in Danbury City Departments and nonprofit agencies.

The SAVE program offers Danbury older adults on fixed incomes additional peace of mind by providing a $700 property tax credit for those who complete 100 hours of volunteer service in the community each year. 

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Older adults who meet the qualification listed below can download the application from here or go to the City of Danbury City Hall Tax Assessor’s office to submit the application. United Way staff will place older adults with Danbury City Departments or Danbury-area nonprofits based on their interests, abilities, and experiences. Older adults who complete 100 volunteer hours with the program receive a $700 property tax credit.
