Child Tax Credit
As we move through the final 4 weeks of the legislative session, bills and budgets will be negotiated and heard on the floor. The CT Child Tax Credit is included in the budget proposal, but that does not guarantee that it will pass as-is at the end of session June 4th.
We’re closer than ever — let’s finish strong! We can create a meaningful CT Child Tax Credit that uplifts families and communities.

With 5 weeks remaining in the session, there is still plenty of time to speak up as both the spending and revenue proposals are negotiated, and bills are heard on the floor. Inclusion in the proposals does not guarantee that it will pass in June. Your legislators and the Governor need to hear from you! Let’s keep the momentum going!
Thank you for your support!

State Budget
This week, the Connecticut legislature will propose their own versions of the state budget and bond package. In May, legislative leaders and the Governor will negotiate a final budget compromise, which will then go to the full General Assembly for a vote.
Once passed, the Governor can either sign the budget or veto it. If vetoed, legislators can attempt to override the veto with a two-thirds majority or return to negotiations. The legislative session ends on June 4.
